Koenraad Hofman studied double bass and chamber music at the Brussels Conservatory under Maurice Aerts, Etienne Siebens and Arie van Lysebeth. When still a student, he was a member of the Prima La Musica chamber orchestra under the conductor Dirk Vermeulen.
From 1996 to 2003 he was solo bassist with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta string orchestra under the conductors Lev Markiz and Peter Oundjian. He held the same position in the European Union Chamber Orchestra.
Since 2004 Koenraad Hofman has been first bassist for the Flanders Symphony Orchestra in Bruges. He has also performed in concerts all over Europe as well as in South Africa, the United States, Russia, Georgia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh, Panama, Jamaica, Chile, Peru and Bolivia.
Hofman regularly works with the main Belgian symphony orchestras, such as La Monnaie, the Flemish Radio Orchestra and the Flanders Opera, and is regularly invited to perform with the Schönberg Orchestra (Hilversum), the Nieuw Ensemble (Amsterdam), the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (Hilversum), the Ictus Ensemble, the Danel Quartet and the Beethoven Academy.
Koenraad Hofman teaches double-bass at the Municipal Academy of Music, Word and Dance in Vilvoorde.
